Established by two brothers in North West London in 1977, Vascroft Contractors Ltd was created with the aim of providing high quality building services for the owners of luxury hotels, upmarket restaurants and exclusive private homes.
Initially a small, family run firm, the business developed rapidly, gaining a reputation for excellence on the back of entering into genuine partnerships with customers, becoming renowned for the exacting personal touch of its directors.
Expanding its operations to include a variety of dedicated in-house operations, such as its joinery and mouldings businesses, and enlarging its customer base to include national and international concerns, the business placed significant emphasis on recruiting the right, highly skilled tradesmen to cement its position as one of the leading general builders and civil engineering contractors operating within London and the South East.
Now, working on contracts with values ranging from £50,000 to £15,000,000, in the public and private sectors alike, the business can look back proudly on over three decades of success and awards achieved for building and refurbishing homes, hotels, schools, hospitals, prisons, sports venues, industrial premises, offices, retail units, cinemas, churches, community centres, temples and even film sets.
Health & Safety
Our commitment to excellence naturally extends to providing a safe and healthy working environment for staff, partners and customers. Rigid safety training and thorough risk assessments are part of every project undertaken, safeguarding the people for whom the business has a duty of care. Such an important aspect of the company’s activities can never be the sole responsibility of one person so everyone at Vascroft is fully aware of their responsibilities, sharing the belief that putting safety first is an essential consideration every time they go to work.
The Environment
Environmental issues are of great concern to Vascroft too and, with reductions in wastage, sustainability and recycling always in mind, the business continues to protect and preserve the environment wherever possible, not only recognising the needs of its clients, but also those of their neighbours and of generations to come.
We are also conscious of our responsibilities to the environment and recognise that the excessively high consumption of wood and paper products is unsustainable and a major cause of the continued deterioration of the global environment. So when planning projects we carefully consider our products durability as well as try to find sustainable solutions. Where the paper, wood and metals we utilise cannot be reused our policy is to carefully dispose of them. Every year we recycle nearly 4,000 sack of paper, 52 skip loads of wood, 26 skips of metal!
Vascroft Foundation
One area of activity that does not always the right level of interest is the considerable charitable we undertake. We have always believed in helping others less fortunate than ourselves and for a number of years the Vascroft Foundation has been donating, up to £60,000 a year on education, health and vocational training projects in the UK, Africa and India.
And through the Foundation we intend to increase our efforts and establish more projects to help more people. For example, we are currently raising funds to build a new centre in India to provide disabled children between 5 and 15 education and vocational training to help them live more independent lives.
