Great Eastern Street

In 2019, Vascroft completed this luxury five star construction of a new 5 storey 125 bedroomed Hotel in the heart of quirky Shoreditch. The works included retaining the facade of what was once a late Victorian warehouse. The scheme required the demolition of existing derelict buildings on the site which were classified as dangerous structures, together with the removal of substantial quantities of asbestos materials. In conjunction with the demolition works the existing building facades were retained by a temporary support system to enable them to form a focal point of the new development. The project has 2 basement levels, the formation of which required contiguous piled retaining walls constructed to the whole perimeter of the site prior to excavation to depths exceeding 8 metres. Following the formation of the 2 new basement levels a 5 storey concrete frame was erected with external cladding and general high quality fitting out works. The interiors were finished to high quality bespoke Joinery through the publich and bedrooms with soft furnishings creating the vision of oppulence and luxury when completed to the clients satisfaction.
