About the project

Completed in 2012, this project involved the full refurbishment and extension of the existing Dominion House, integrating it with the Holiday Inn Express to create an additional 48 bedrooms, resulting in a 147-bedroom hotel.

The existing basement was upgraded to accommodate a plant room, meeting facilities, and storage space. The upper floors, including a new roof extension, were fitted out as additional guest bedrooms. Openings were created on multiple levels to seamlessly connect the property to the neighbouring hotel.

Construction works included demolition, underpinning, and the construction of a new retaining wall to the basement. The project also entailed the replacement of timber floors, refurbishment of existing windows, installation of new timber windows, new lift installations, and internal remodelling. Externally, new Petrarch cladding was installed to modernise the façade. Mechanical and electrical works were carried out to current standards, in full compliance with regulations, British Standards, and the Code of Construction Practice.
