About the project

Vascroft successfully completed the transformation of The Lord Jim Hotel in 2023, creating a new 4-star hotel in Central London. Previously, the site comprised two separate buildings operating as a 2-star and 3-star hotel.

The project included the full refurbishment of the existing hotel, incorporating a rear extension to form 50 additional bedrooms, extensive fabric upgrades, new MEP installations, and a high-quality fit-out. Additionally, 52 guestrooms in the adjacent hotel were soft refurbished. Together, the works delivered a luxurious 102-bedroom hotel complete with a grand new lobby, reception area, breakfast room, and elegantly appointed 4-star guest rooms.

The scheme also featured an enhanced façade design, creating a single main entrance uniting the two former buildings. A two-storey rear extension provided extra accommodation and a garden area, while upgraded M&E services were integrated seamlessly throughout.

All works were carefully phased and coordinated to ensure the hotel remained operational, with guest disturbance kept to an absolute minimum.
