This project involved the conversion of a Grade II listed building, originally the largest and oldest Magistrates’ Court, into a five-star luxury hotel. In keeping with the building’s heritage, many original features—including the former prison cells—were carefully retained and incorporated into the hotel’s unique design.
Works included the retention and restoration of the front Grade II listed court building façade, demolition of the rear structures, and the construction of two basement levels and six storeys of reinforced concrete frame to accommodate guest bedrooms and hotel staff facilities.
