About the project

Vascroft Contractors Ltd were appointed as the main principal contractor in July 2024 to deliver the vision for The Imperial Hotel Bloomsbury, completed in June 2026. The project involved restoring the hotel to a standard that would re-establish it as an iconic destination, staying true to its unique character and style while creating a legacy cherished by future generations.

The Imperial underwent a comprehensive renovation and the Brutalist building was transformed into a 4-star deluxe lifestyle hotel,  now a flagship of the family-owned hospitality group.

The scope of works includes full design and construction services to deliver a 357-room hotel, encompassing structural alterations, façade upgrades, fit-out of existing rooms, and improvements to circulation areas. A new wellness area and roof terrace was added, along with a cut-and-carve construction on the roof to create a stunning rooftop bar offering panoramic views of London’s skyline.
