For over five decades, Vascroft has been a trusted name in construction, design and engineering. We have shaped skylines, restored heritage sites and delivered landmark developments across London and beyond. But what truly defines Vascroft is not the buildings we create – it is the communities we help bring together.
From our earliest days, community has never been a corporate buzzword; it has been a core value. We have been privileged to work alongside organisations whose spaces foster connection, preserve culture and provide a sense of belonging. Many of these projects are made possible through the generosity of volunteers, fundraising efforts and community donations, often leaving little room for commercial gain. We see them not simply as projects, but as opportunities to create a lasting social impact.
Crafting Spiritual Sanctuaries
Places of worship are far more than buildings. They are centres of faith, culture, education and community life, requiring a deep understanding of heritage, craftsmanship and purpose.
BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandirs, Birmingham & Manchester
In 2022, Vascroft proudly completed two major community landmarks: the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandirs in Birmingham and Manchester.
Combining traditional artisan stonework and cladding imported from India with modern construction techniques, both mandirs were designed to serve generations to come. Sustainable M&E installations and solar technology were incorporated to minimise environmental impact while providing world-class facilities for their communities.
Sanjay Kara, Trustee of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha (UK & Europe), commented:
“The Vascroft ethos to build communities not just buildings, is very much evident in how they approach, manage, and execute such projects. Each member of the Vascroft team that works on our project, does so with passion, dedication, and sheer hard work not only to simply deliver ‘a good project’ but to ensure the best facilities are provided so that Communities can thrive for generations to come.”
Sri Krishna Haveli, Bhaktivedanta Manor
Located in the Hertfordshire countryside, Bhaktivedanta Manor is one of the UK’s most significant Hindu places of worship.
Vascroft’s in-house joinery and craftsmanship teams constructed the Sri Krishna Haveli, helping to deliver a space that balances beauty, functionality and spirituality. Today, it serves as a vibrant community venue welcoming thousands of visitors, families and worshippers each year.
Trustees at Bhaktivedanta Manor shared:
“It was important to us that the spirit of devotion be woven into every aspect of the project. We are thankful to Vascroft for their role in helping to create a space dedicated to the service of Kṛṣṇa and the spiritual upliftment of our communities.”
Supporting Faith, Heritage and Community
Our commitment to community extends beyond the projects we directly construct. Over the years, Vascroft has been privileged to support a range of faith-based and cultural organisations that play a vital role in preserving heritage and strengthening community life.
This includes involvement in the restoration of Bevis Marks Synagogue, the UK’s oldest synagogue, situated in the heart of the City of London, as well as advisory support for the Sikh Gurdwara on Merton Road in South London.
Much of this work has been championed by our Chairman, Shashi Vekaria, who regularly volunteers his time and expertise to support community-led initiatives. Today, he continues to play an active role in major projects including the BAPS Paris Hindu Mandir (due to open in Autumn 2026) and SKLPC India Gardens (due to open in Summer 2027).
Whether restoring historic landmarks, supporting places of worship or helping bring new community hubs to life, these projects reflect our belief that construction is about more than creating buildings; it is about creating places where people can connect, belong and thrive.
How Community Has Shaped Vascroft
When Vascroft first started, our founders envisioned a company built on integrity, trust, and relationship-driven delivery. As the business has scaled over the decades, we have deliberately held onto those family-centric values.
Every time our team steps onto a community site, they do so with a unique passion. We understand that these projects rely on the goodwill, donations, and dreams of volunteers and well-wishers. We treat that trust as a sacred responsibility.
As we look toward the future, our pipeline remains diverse, spanning luxury hospitality, advanced medical facilities, and bespoke residences. Yet, our dedication to community spaces remains absolute.
